Huawei announced today it signed a multi-year cross-license agreement with vivo, one month after fellow Nokia did the same. The Chinese smartphone maker has agreed to pay royalties for 5G technologies, opening the door for the company to operate in countries, where Huawei deals with 5G communications.
Alan Fan, Head of Huawei's Intellectual Property Department, said in a press release that the agreement reflects the “mutual respect for the value of each other's patents”. It will pave the way for both companies to work together in the future.
